Setting Amazon Echo / Dot Alarms

The Amazon Echo / Dot can be used as an alarm and will still work during a network outage, as long as you set them before the outage.

Common alarm settings

Set an alarm for 9am every day: “Alexa, set an everyday alarm for 9am”

Set an alarm for 8am on Tuesday: “Alexa, set an alarm for Tuesday at 8am”

Set an alarm for 9am every Tuesday: “Alexa, set a repeating alarm for Tuesday at 8am”

Set an alarm for 9am every weekday: “Alexa, set a weekday alarm for 9am”

Set an alarm for 11am on weekends: “Alexa, set a weekend alarm for 11am”

Alarms on Multiple Echo’s / Dot’s

One caveat to be aware of if you have multiple echo’s / dot’s is that alarms and timers are specific to the echo / dot that you set the alarm on.

So, for example, if you are cooking and have an echo / dot in the kitchen, but want the timer to tell you when to get off the computer in another room and go back to the kitchen, you have to set the timer on the echo / dot that is in the room that the computer is in, not on the echo / dot in the kitchen.
