Lorne is singing and telling the audience a story about love... In response to Cordelia's question Angel says that he had feelings for her, but that he never found out how she felt about him. Cordelia is confused and annoyed with her missing memories. Lorne arrives with a bottle for a spell to restore Cordelia's memory - guaranteed and no side effects... Lorne tells the audience that he was an idiot...
Cordelia agrees with the spell, against Angel's advice. Wesley is testing a new weapon (a retractable stake and sword up his sleeve) at his apartment when Lorne calls him to join them. Wesley asks after Fred. Fred is in her room with Gunn (neither of them are in anything resembling a cheerful mood) when Angel collects them for the spell.
Wesley arrives at the hotel just after Fred and Gunn get to the lobby. [Gunn doesn't know that Wesley helped Fred to open the portal, Wesley doesn't know that Gunn killed the professor to stop Fred becoming a killer and Fred doesn't know that Gunn is just about to figure out that Wesley helped her.]
In the office, Gunn confronts Wesley and threatens, telling him not to make a move on Fred. Wesley tests his new weapon against Gunn's throat. Gunn asks Wesley what changed him. Wesley replies that he had his throat cut and all of his friends abandoned him.
Everyone is sitting in a circle around the bottle and Lorne starts the spell. The bottle spins and all six of them are hit by magical smoke from the bottle. Lorne crawls off and passes out. Angel goes out into the garden and stares at the sky. Fred is sick into a plant pot. Gunn walks around making Karate / Tai Chi moves. Wesley comments on side effects and laughs to himself. Cordelia stands up and breaks the bottle.
Cordelia asks what is going on. Wesley asks her what her name is. She tells him if it is some sort of sophomore hazing prank involving drugs, that her parents will sue the whole of Sunnydale. [Ed: The "old" Cordelia is definitely back.] Cordelia sees Angel and likes him! None of them know the others, their memories have been changed - they are all back in childhood, in their school days.
Angel, referring to himself with his original name of Liam, is concerned that his Irish accent has disappeared. Wesley wants to gather information. Cordelia wants to call the police. Gunn definitely does not want to call the police. Fred thinks that they are the victims of a government conspiracy.
While they are talking [mostly rubbish] Wesley assumes that he is in charge as he is head boy at the Watchers Academy, but Gunn suggests that Wesley could become the headless boy. While trying to use Karate to impress Gunn, Wesley accidentally activates the stake on his weapon - surprising himself as much as anyone else. Then they find Lorne, still unconscious behind the desk.
Connor saves a prostitute from two vampires. She offers him a reward and then tries to charge him for it. He refuses her generous offer.
Lorne is tied to a bench. Wesley is about to tell the gang that vampires are real when Gunn interrupts and tells them that there are vampires all over L.A. Wesley's knowledge on demons is shown to be lacking, by Gunn. He and Gunn, who wants to cut Lorne's head off, fight. Angel assumes that Gunn is a slave. When Cordelia breaks the fight up Wesley suggests that they are being tested like the slayers are - locked in a building with a vampire. Fred comments that they all look older than they should, for school children. She suggests that vampires have aged them by magic. They all go off to search the hotel for vampires so that they can kill them and return to normal. The gang split up, Fred with Wesley and Gunn, Angel with Cordelia.
During the search Cordelia tries to make out with Angel. Angel discovers that he is a vampire and thinks that they are going to kill him. Fred, now on about alien abductions, talks about herself naked on a table with aliens probing her - Wesley's stake pops out again. [Ed: ROFL...can't type...]
They find no vampires and return to the lobby. Angel leaves the hotel, sees the cars on the street and returns to the hotel describing the cars as demons. Wesley suggests that the vampire may be one of them. He points a cross at Gunn and Gunn punches him, knocking him down. The cross is passed around. Lorne wakes up while Angel is holding it, saving Angel from them from seeing the smoke.
Lorne remembers them all, he was unaffected by the spell, but he gives away that Angel is a vampire and Angel knocks him out. Gunn attacks Angel and he knocks him out too. Cordelia volunteers Fred to be Angel's first meal. Wesley tells Cordelia and Fred to run and gets knocked out by Angel.
Angel goes after Cordelia and catches her. Connor arrives and throws Angel through a window into the kitchens, saving Cordelia. She promises him a big reward if he kills Angel. Connor and Angel fight.
Fred comes out of hiding to check on Gunn. Lorne asks her to release him so that he can fix the spell. Angel and Connor talk, during pauses in the fight, about their respective fathers in uncomplimentary terms and Connor claims that Cordelia is his.
Lorne gives Fred a potion to restore her memory. Gunn has recovered and is behind him about to attack. Fred, with her memory back, stops him. They all take the potion and get their memories back, including Cordelia who remembers everything. She leaves to be alone for a while. Angel stops her long enough to ask her if they were in love. She says that they were, then leaves.
...Lorne leaves the stage. The room is empty.
