Top level Episode Guide Buffy Buffy Season 7

Author:   Publishing date: 05.02.2003 00:53

A bus arrives in Sunnydale. A girl, Rona, gets off and is surrounded by three Bringers. Buffy kills them and meets Rona, another PS (potential slayer). Buffy welcomes Rona to the Hellmouth.

Willow is sleeping on the floor while Kennedy has the bed, although Kennedy insists that Willow does not have to sleep on the floor. Kennedy, apparently, comes from a wealthy family: her half-sister's room was in the "other wing" of the house, but their summer house only had one wing! She asks about Willow about her powers, but Willow does not want to talk about them.

Downstairs the other SP's (Molly, Eve, Vi and Chloe) are talking about Buffy's fight with the Turok-Han. Both Xander and Andrew want them to shut up so that they can get some sleep. Buffy arrives and introduces Rona to the others. [Ed: Rona does not understand Molly's use of the English word peckish, but she is American ;)]

Buffy tells the others of Rona's reception committee. The First knows that the PS's are gathering in Sunnydale and neither Giles nor Anya have come up with any way of fighting it. Andrew points out that while the Turok-Han is guarding The First's lair, Buffy cannot rescue Spike. Eve wants to know why Buffy wants to rescue Spike and if Buffy has any plan to prevent the PS's dying. Buffy announces that they are working on a plan.

Giles suggests one, possible, source of information: a demon Eye, an oracle that lives in a dark dimension. Anya does not want to visit it. Buffy insists that they, and Spike, are running out of time.

Spike dreams of escaping The First's lair, into Buffy's arms. The First (as Buffy) taunts him, telling him that Buffy will not come to save him, that she doesn't care enough to risk her life for him. Spike insists that Buffy will come to rescue him.

Anya has to convince a demon she once had a one night stand with to open a portal to the Eye. She offers to have sex with him in return, but he refuses as she is too ugly as a human. Giles alternative offer - help us or Buffy will kill all your clientele and burn your establishment to the ground - works. The demon opens a portal. Anya and Giles enter the dark dimension and meet the eye.

Willow receives a telephone call from the coven, who are searching for the remaining PS's. Andrew has been untied on condition that he behaves. Willow tells Buffy that another PS arrived in Sunnydale two days ago. Buffy and Xander leave to collect her from a motel.

The other PS's are in the basement training. Eve is complaining about how pointless it is for them to train when the only thing they will end up doing is dying. Buffy and Xander find the PS dead in her motel room. She has been dead for days - it is Eve.

Andrew is being generally annoying. He tells Dawn that he is feeling alone. She replies that he should not have killed his only friends.

Buffy and Xander return to the house and confront The First (as Eve) [Ed: This is the first (sic) indication that The First can be in two places at once.] The First leaves with a warning that it will be sending a guest, the Turok-Han, to visit them that night.

The Eye tells Anya and Giles that The First cannot be fought or killed, that it always has existed and always will exist. The Eye tells them that the mystical forces surrounding the slayer were irrevocably changed recently and that gave The First its chance to act. The forces were changed by the slayer.

The whole house is worried that The First was in their midst and they did not even notice. Buffy asks Willow to create a barrier, as she did in [S5-20 Spiral]. Willow agrees, but Xander is not entirely happy about Willow using her powers. The PS's, except for Kennedy, are pessimistic about their chances and don't like the idea of only "trying" to defeat the Turok-Han. As they begin to argue, Buffy, Willow and Xander go to the kitchen and leave them to it.

That evening, The First (as Eve) sends the Turok-Han to kill them all - except Buffy. Bringers surround the house, but do not attack. Rona want's to know "what the point is" - Kennedy shows her the pointed end of a knife and tells her to stick it in the bad guys, "Any more questions?".

Buffy allows Andrew to have a weapon - a bottle of Holy Water. Willow is worried about using her powers after the last time when The First turned them back on her. The Turok-Han arrives and Willow creates a barrier just in time. Willow cannot hold the barrier against the Turok-Han. The gang run and fight their way through the Bringers.

Anya and Giles return from the dark dimension. Giles says that The Eye said [although it was not said on-screen] that The First was able to make its move because Buffy lived again. Anya says that it was their (Willow, Tara, Xander and Anya) fault for bringing Buffy back. She says that the world would have been better off if Buffy had stayed dead.

Buffy tells Willow and Xander to take the rest of the gang somewhere safe while she stays and tries to slow the Turok-Han down and lead it away from them. She throws Holy Water at it, but it has little effect. When she tries to lead it off, it ignores her and goes after the others.

Xander has taken the gang to a building site. The Turok-Han arrives seconds after they do, as does Buffy. Willow tells the others not to fight, just to watch - "It's Showtime". Buffy intends to put on a demonstration to show the PS's that they can fight back rather than sit around the house and wait for death. Dawn realises that Buffy and Willow planned for the barrier to fail to set the stage for the demonstration. Buffy and the Turok-Han fight.

[Flashback to the scene where the SP's are arguing and Buffy, Willow and Xander go to the kitchen: they were communicating telepathically, planning this show.]

The fight continues and Buffy, finally, manages to decapitate the Turok-Han with barbed wire. She then gives the PS's a sermon: that they can win if they stick together and do their jobs. They leave. The First (as Eve) saw the end of the fight and does not look happy.

Buffy goes to The First's lair and rescues Spike.

[Throughout this episode and the last Giles is not seen to interact physically with any object or person...]
