A Belated Introduction

Top level DSVR

As the title suggests, this is a somewhat belated introduction to this section of the site.

Firstly I must state that I am not an employee of Designer Servers Limited (DSVR), I do not have any connection with them (save being a customer of theirs) and I have no inside knowledge or connections - I am just a customer. I am generally a happy customer, but if there are things that annoy me, you may find them detailed here ;) Please do not complain to DSVR if "my" configuration does not work on your server.

This section of the site has two main purposes: (a) to provide information and hints to other (potential) DSVR customers about the VS's, their configuration and use; and (b) to remind me how I configured something a year ago...

The guides presented here "worked OK on my server". If your server is set-up differently to my server, you may have to tweak a few things, although I will try and point out any obvious configuration issues.

I will, generally, avoid duplicating information that is available from DSVR's own support documentation, unless I have something significant to add.

In short: this section will contain information based upon my experiences with my server configuration. This is not meant to be a beginner's guide to administering a server so I will assume that readers have basic knowledge of server management and configuration from a shell - if you only use version 2 of the control panel, these pages are probably not for you.
