The gang are waiting for the results of Joyce's operation. The surgeon gives them the news that the operation was a complete success.
Dawn stays the night at Xander's flat, leaving Buffy and Riley alone. While they are making the most of their time, in Buffy's bedroom, Spike is outside the house getting jealous. Riley leaves early and Spike follows him. Later, Spike takes Buffy to the house that Riley went to and she sees him with the vampire biting him. She runs off home.
The ex-Initiative commandos are planning a mission in Belize and want Riley to join the team. Buffy goes to close down the vampire's "biting" house but they have all gone. Riley attacks Spike, stakes him with a plastic stake and tells him to stay away from Buffy.
Buffy is training in the back of the shop when Riley turns up to talk. They talk [no details here, sorry]. Riley is leaving to rejoin the military. Buffy is attacked by a group of 8 vampires on the way home and kills all of them in seconds.
Xander confronts Buffy and forces her to talk. He talks her into going after Riley. She gets there too late. He has just left.
