Angel watches Connor fighting a vampire. Cordelia watches Angel and, although he can't hear her, begs him to free her. Fred and Gunn are watching Angel, they are worried about Angel. Angel decides on a trip - to Las Vegas. Angel has been to Las Vegas before, but a long time ago.
They see Lorne's show, which is high profile and very good - including his own dancers, the "Lornettes". Lorne ignores the gang, walking past them in the audience and again backstage. As he is taken back to his room by a security guard he passes them off as old fans.
The casino manager, Lee, enters his room, flatters him and then insists (with the aid of the guard) that Lorne tells him about the audience members. Lorne identifies three who will have successful futures.
In the casino, Fred and Gunn are playing Blackjack and a woman at the table is given a token to play the "Spin to Win a Million" game. Angel attempts to get a message to Lorne and notices something strange about the people playing the slot machines. Cordelia wants to know why he does not notice that she needs to be freed.
Fred counts the cards and wins at Blackjack. Neither she nor Gunn notice Angel being dragged off by 2 guards. The guards take him outside and attack him, until he knocks them out. The woman who was given the game token, walks past him with a blank expression. She almost gets run over, but Angel saves her.
Fred and Gunn find a way of sneaking into Lorne's room - Fred dresses up as a Lornette. It takes Lorne a few seconds to realise that it is her. Apparently, his references to "fluffy" in their telephone conversations were a request for them to rescue him, but Fred never understood it.
Lorne tells Fred about a mystical device that Lee found, which involves members of the audience that Lorne picks out playing a game... Angel forces his way into the Spin to Win game and is tricked into playing. The house wins and Angel, along with all the other players, gains a blank expression and a cup of quarters.
Fred cons Lorne's guards into going into his room and locks them in. She, Lorne and Gunn escape. The gang find Angel on their way out, playing the slot machines and ask him to slow down the guards. He agrees, but carries on playing.
The others flee to the car. Lorne tells them that Lee is taking peoples futures when they loose the game, which they always do, and their futures are sold on the black market. Gunn realises that Angel has lost his future.
He asks why Lorne accepted the job and Lorne explains that he did refuse Lee's initial offer. Then Lee killed a girl in front of him and said he would do the same thing every time Lorne said no.
Gunn returns to save Angel, but he and the others are caught and taken to the casino office. Angel continues to play the machines. Cordelia, watching, realises that she can make the slot machine pay out to give Angel a victory and, hopefully, his future back.
Angel is brought to the office and recognises it. Lee wants to know how he won. When a guard puts a gun to Fred's head, Angel starts fighting. Between them they take out all the guards and Lorne destroys Lee's mystical device, returning all the futures stored in it to their owners - including Angel.
On the way out of the casino, Angel realises that he remembers the office as he was there for Elvis and Presilla's wedding.
They all return to the hotel. They find Cordelia in the lobby. She asks them who they are.
