Jonathan, Warren and Andrew are on Quads chasing two vampires, trying to get a disc off them. As the vampires are about to escape, they run into Buffy. Buffy, eventually, slays the first while Spike tries, and fails, to revive their relationship.
Xander, drinking alone at home, leaves the apartment. Anya is outside watching the building. Willow meets Tara after class and they arrange to meet the next day.
Buffy takes Dawn shopping, but only in the shops that Dawn hasn't been stealing from!
Jonathan is working on a spell, with the disc, to make the gang rich. He wants the gang to split up once it is finished.
Xander returns home to find Anya there. He tells her that he still loves her and wants to make up with her. He admits he is still not ready to get married and Anya gets angry. She turns into her vengeance demon form and makes a wish, but nothing happens. None of her wishes do anything and she leaves. Anya is told that she can't grant a wish for herself, but if she could get someone else to make the wish on her behalf...
Buffy gets up early to make Dawn breakfast. Dawn tries to talk Buffy into allowing her to go on patrol with her.
Anya finds Willow and Tara at the coffee shop and talks about Xander. Anya finds Dawn at the magic shop and talks about Xander. Anya finds Buffy at her house and talks about Xander... None of them make a wish. Xander arrives at the house and Anya leaves.
Xander breaks a gnome in Buffy's garden and they find a video camera inside it. Xander thinks it's Spike's. Buffy confronts Spike about it. He denies it and tells her that he still loves her. She says that she doesn't love him.
Anya realises that she needs someone who doesn't like Xander to make the wish, then Spike walks into the shop. Willow, with Buffy and Xander watching, attempts to trace the camera's signal to its owner, who they suspect is Jonathan's gang.
Jonathan casts his spell, which shows them a location on a map, presumably where some treasure is. Anya tries to get Spike to make a wish. Anya and Spike drink as they talk about their love lives.
Willow discovers that there are other cameras. Spike and Anya kiss. Willow gets a live feed from the camera in the magic shop, where Spike and Anya are making love. Buffy and Xander are both shocked. Dawn walks in and Willow covers her (Dawn's) eyes. Willow and Dawn realise that Buffy reacted to Spike, but Buffy walks off before they can ask her about it.
Dawn follows Buffy and Xander leaves the house with an axe. Dawn talks to Buffy about Spike. Willow tells them that Xander has left with the axe. Xander arrives at the shop as Spike is leaving. Xander attacks Spike, who can't fight back.
Buffy and Anya stop Xander from staking Spike. Anya and Xander fight, ending up with Xander telling her that he feels sick to look at her because she had sex with Spike. At which point, Spike says "It's good enough for Buffy." and the secret is out.
Xander walks off, as does Buffy. Spike is about to make a wish about Xander, but Anya stops him. Tara enters Willow's room. They skip the "getting to know each other again" stage and kiss.
