Detachable / Escape Cabin for Airliners

I’m not convinced about this one from a “safety” point of view. It has to be at a certain altitude for the parachutes to open and adds extra failure points (the attachments).

However, given that most failures/delays are caused by problems in engines / control systems, airlines could have spare lifting bodies to minimise delays.
